It’s about your flow, not our inventory.
Surface treatment is rarely the final stage.
It is a critical step in a larger production flow where timing, volumes, and delivery precision are crucial.
When something goes wrong in the surface treatment stage, it is rarely noticed immediately, but the effect is significant further down the chain.
- Missing batch → downtime
- Incorrect quantity → rescheduling
- Unclear status → guesswork
This is why Proton Finishing is investing in inventory management systems.
From internal control to customer benefit
During the year, a Warehouse Management System (WMS) was introduced at five of six units. By autumn, the entire operation will be covered.
The aim is not to create a more advanced warehouse, but to ensure a more reliable flow for the customer.
With WMS, we have real-time control over:
- the location of each batch
- how many items are finished, in progress, or pending
- what is being delivered, and when
This makes the surface treatment stage a clearly defined and traceable part of the customer’s total production.
What does this mean in practice for you as a customer?
When the information is reliable, the risk in the next step is reduced.
For our customers, this means:
- fewer production stoppages due to uncertain delivery status
- better planning conditions
- less time spent chasing answers
You don’t need to call to ask. You don’t need to guess. You can continue planning.
A system you don’t see, but notice
WMS is not something you see in the delivery.
But you notice when the right quantity arrives at the right time.
When deliveries are correct.
When planning is on track.
When surface treatment does not become an uncertainty factor in production.
That’s where WMS makes a difference, in practice, not in the system.
